Lara Gasparotto has developped an intimate universe capturing moments of sweetness and melancholia. Like memories turning into dreams, the narrative of her pictures comes to life through the atmosphere coming out of the relation between light and silence. We read her pictures like we remember the seasons: the place and time do not really matter, moments become memories according to the way it affects us

Lara Gasparotto

Solstices is the fifth publication of the Belgian photographer Lara Gasparotto. Active since 8 years in the Stieglitz 19 gallery in Antwerp, she has developped an intimate universe capturing moments of sweetness and melancholia. Like memories turning into dreams, the narrative of her pictures comes to life through the atmosphere coming out of the relation between light and silence. ララの写真は心に響きます。実際には起きなかったことの追憶、想像上のノスタルジアのようなものが思い浮かびます。写真は、その中に自分がいるかのように思えるなら、成功と言えるでしょう。この点でララの作品は優秀です。
