earth defense force

The each model in the photo are members of a fictional group called the '地球防衛隊(earth defense force)'. They wear costumes that symbolize the 'color' they have chosen, and stand in front of the camera in the 'intermediate landscape' located between the destruction and regeneration. They are real, but exist somewhere between imagination and reality.
This is a borrowing of past heroes movie(スーパー戦隊), and serves as an important clue to an alternative worldview.
My work is my perspective on the world full of layers, and my interest and questions about the existence in the gap.

Seung-joo Lee

A photographer based in Seoul. Majored in Visual Arts and Photography at Korea National University of Arts and Chung-Ang University. Interested in the possibility of gaps and layers in everyday life and expresses them through visual media.
