When my heart feels restless, I take a selfie, upload it to social media, and am helped by the few likes I get. By putting myself on social media, I can take on the image of a girl in a quiet room who does not feel overwhelmed by things like time, myself, and my anxieties. I take photos to maintain that image, even if it is only on the internet. But the truth is that through my busy life, to an extent I have become a levelheaded person, a person who knows society and is deeply hurt at times. But those things sometimes become the driving force behind me taking photos. I want our selfies, taken in my small room, to exist on the internet humbly and boldly for even a moment.

大学在学時より写真作品の制作を始める。

Jury selection

ずっとセルフポートレイトを撮っている人。少々の言葉と共に、淡々とSNSにアップしているが実は痛烈な社会批判になっている、とわたしには見える。切実さもあり、ステイトメントも良かった。一枚一枚の写真も魅力的で、群を抜いている。パソコンやSNSの機能の特徴をうまく使った画像もあり、今後も撮り続けていくのだろうという未来への期待も持てる。
