The dog was with us since my childhood.
I was aware she could not eat; she was already 18.
Returning home, I saw her sleeping, surrounded by blankets and stuffed animals that my mother had placed for her.
Her ash was in a beautiful urn a month later.
To the dog that has given us warmth, what did my mother's temperature say?

Graduated from Sophia University Faculty of Human Sciences.
Currently in Tokyo College of Photography.

Jury selection

This woman is caring for her sick and old dog that has been a family member all it's life. This is heartbreaking and also beautiful to see at the same time. The photo carries so much emotion and love.
