Breathing

When living things breathe, it means
Nature breathes

Nature breathes
Creates mornings and evenings
It changes the weather
It makes the tides rise and fall
The changing of the seasons

In the middle of a journey
When I sleep with a weary body

As I drift off to sleep
I dream a dream
Calm illusions searing with every beat of my heart

Something I've seen, something I've heard
What I have seen, what I have heard, what I will experience

Dreams are the spirit that connects the past, present and future
It is also my longing for the unknown, the dream that has yet to be understood.

Born 1974 in Tokyo, Japan, she has been creating photographic works while staying in South Africa, Nepal, Thailand, the U.S., Mexico, and other countries since 2005. Currently resides in Busan, South Korea.

Jury selection

These images showcase a fairy tale like scenery where one does not know what goes beyond the images. Like the opening pages of a story book where the fox might be the protagonist. A dream or reverie that continues beyond the frame of each image. Inviting the viewer to wander and reflect on ones own dreams and desires.
