THEME #39Winners2022OCT
NIGHT
SHORT LIST
Statement
Yabun/Koryo
There is always a faint sense of inaccessibility or distance lurking between myself and familiar acquaintances or familiar landscapes. When faced with such an unmanageable gap, I dare to bring an obstacle - the camera - into the boundary between myself and the subject, even though the subject is within reach. In this way, a photograph is born when I attempt a dialogue with something that exists in front of me, but which I cannot understand or obtain.

Jury selection
It is a picture that strongly holds and speaks to me about how one wants to be in relation to the photograph and others.
