OPEN CALL
GRAND PRIX
Statement
Ridiculous beyond the point of emptiness.
A work that is so absurd it surpasses the bounds of nothingness.
Interesting things are surprisingly close to us, and what goes unnoticed are the most absurd.
I want to explore something that transcends meaning, existence, and value.

Jury selection
Judged by IMA Editorial Team
Just like how the artist wanted to illustrate “something that goes beyond reason, existence, or value,” in this world that demands reason, logic, coherence, and even acting efficient and economical, there are no ways to describe these photographs. The audience is drawn to this “unintelligiblility” as well as the work’s high degree of perfection brought by the artist’s distinguished eye for composition and her thorough attention towards every detail. This is a work that speaks what it means to face photography with sincerity in our contemporary time.
