Kenji Yamashiro

Born in 1984, Wakayama Prefecture.
Graduated from Yasuko Ueda College of Fashion.
Studied under Shinya Sato after traveling to England and working at Iino Studio.
Began his career as a freelance photographer in 2020.
Won the 22nd "1_WALL" Photography.

Takes photographs with an emphasis on the connection and universality of each subjects.
His career mainly includes advertising, magazines, catalogs, and online.

Jury selection

Seashells, a lizard’s tail, a splash of water and a bruised knee: Kenji Yamashiro’s photographs evoke a sense of touch as much as they do a sense of vision. Drenched in light, they look like interpretations of the tactile experience of blindness.
