This is a memory of a shock that can become routine, beginning of global warming, which will cover the world very soon. The little boy looks at the terrifying climate changes from forest fires in Turkey. Natural disasters spare no one. And it’s scary.
Born in Starokonstiantyniv, Ukraine in 1989. He began documenting his surroundings with his first photo and video cameras as a child. He studied Public Services which led to a career as a chef. After a while, he left cooking to devote his time to photography and video. He explores the streets, seeking details in shadows, wrappers, peoples’ actions, or in unexpected places invisible to passersby. Mixing dirty realism with fashion photography.
Judged by Tim Barber:
Inspired by the Grand Prix, Takahashi Miki’s work, I thought it would be fun and interesting to make a compilation of the widely diverse and eclectic work submitted for this contest. When edited and organized, the “memory” submissions, sent in from dozens of artists, become a kind of collective-memory-collage, a dream sequence of disparate clues from a kaleidoscopic narrative.
