THEME #24Winners2021JUN
MEMORIES
SHORT LIST
The way home
An evening scene of people passing by the bridge every day. Some are going home alone from school, some are going home as a couple, some are finishing their farm work, some are with their colleagues. I photographed people of various ages passing by the bridge with various thoughts. This bridge is called "Nagare-bashi" (flowing bridge) because it often flows away during typhoons, and is loved by the local people.

Judged by Tim Barber:
Inspired by the Grand Prix, Takahashi Miki’s work, I thought it would be fun and interesting to make a compilation of the widely diverse and eclectic work submitted for this contest. When edited and organized, the “memory” submissions, sent in from dozens of artists, become a kind of collective-memory-collage, a dream sequence of disparate clues from a kaleidoscopic narrative.
