MEMORIES
SHORT LIST
The Story of a 10-meter Radius
For me, memory is the memory of my son "now", which will soon disappear. I don't remember anything from when I was his age. The few memories I do have are of imitating heroes for the camera. That is to say, someday he will look at this photo and recall memories that he doesn't remember, just like I do.
Shoichi Kawada
Born in Miyazaki in 1983. Graduated from Osaka University of Arts in 2005, and from Vantan Film and New Media Academy in 2009.
He has been working as a filmmaker since 2013.
Judged by Tim Barber:
Inspired by the Grand Prix, Takahashi Miki’s work, I thought it would be fun and interesting to make a compilation of the widely diverse and eclectic work submitted for this contest. When edited and organized, the “memory” submissions, sent in from dozens of artists, become a kind of collective-memory-collage, a dream sequence of disparate clues from a kaleidoscopic narrative.
